Razeen® SR 5198 is a high melt viscosity, unmodified epoxy resin based on bisphenol
A, designed for high quality industrial coatings.
Applications
Razeen® SR 5198 cured with phenolic or amino resins is suitable for the formulation of
solvent containing linings for cans, tubes, and metal containers of all types. It also used
in formulation of baking primers and enamels (coil coating) highly resistant to
mechanical damage and chemicals. For the formulation of cold-curing coatings it is
recommended to use polyisocyanates as hardeners.
Properties
Razeen® SR 5198 features a low color value and good compatibility with co-resins such
as phenolic and amino resins. Container linings and baking enamels yield:
- Relatively low viscosity
- Excellent flexibility and impact resistance
- Outstanding deep-drawing capability
- Good chemical resistance.
Coatings formulated in combination with polyisocyanates exhibit:
- High solids content can be formulated
- High reactivity
- Outstanding mechanical properties
- Good chemical resistance.

Package and Storage
Razeen® SR 5198 is available in 20 Kg. bags. This product should be stored in a dry
place, preferably in the sealed original container, at temperatures between 2 and 40°C.
The product should not be stored exposed to direct sunlight.

Caution! Avoid dusty conditions.
Forced ventilation and dust masks or respirators should be used in order to ensure that
operatives do not breath in dust generated by resin, hardener or formulated or powder
coatings.
